Persian poetry and music has always enriched my life. My grandmother recited poems as my bedside stories and my father amused me by reading Ferdosi's Shahnameh, one of the greatest epics of all time. I have read and written Persian poetry since a very early age. My father, a gifted calligrapher, enjoyed my poetry. In 1989 he set himself the task of rewriting my poems in his beautiful handwriting. Unfortunately, he had completed only seventeen of my poems when he passed on. It is in his memory that I am posting the seventeen poems (composed between 1967 to 1988) for the enjoyment of those who can read Persian text.
A special thank you goes to my Uncle Kaz for the beautiful borders he has developed for the poems.
