Symvisio VI
“Sunflowers and Butterflies” (In D-major)
Oil on Canvas, 60” x 244”, 2006
Memories from when we walked together. My dad and I used to take walks around the neighborhood and talked about life. One day, during our walk, we saw a butterfly landing on a flower. My father turned to me and asked, “Why in the Persian art, butterflies are associate with roses and candles, but never with sunflowers?” His question marinated in my head for years and materialized in this symvisio.
